Tales of the trip to Jackson volume four (5/10/09)!
Well, the trip to Jackson was once again entirely fruitful. Got a better idea of for what some of you guys are looking. I'll be adding to some the old, cool TMNT black and whites to my search list. With the dissolve of my Yelverton Comics in Starkville, I'll be picking up my new books there at Heroes and Dreams. This means I'll probably offer my review of the books that I'll be getting. At the end of this post I'll give you guys a taste of my watch list -- that is, the things that I'll be bringing to Heroes and Dreams about once a month. Remember though, if you want me to look for anything, just give me a holler on here and I'll add your stuff to the list. I DO work on a limited budget, but since there aren't a ton of people in particular that I'm working with, it's not a problem right now. (I have a feeling that some of you are looking for the same things though.)
So, you may be wondering what it is that I brought up with me this time. Well, I dropped off another load of Brave and the Bold Volume I with Dale and Jay this time as I did last time. That should get you guys who are working on that series something to crawl through. I think there were about twenty books with that lot. Secondly, another large lot of Marvel G.I. Joe books including A Real American Hero, Order of Battle, Transformers vs. G.I. Joe, and Yearbook titles. I'd pounce on those early as they look to be gone soon. With the impending movie and trailer, I'll try to pick up some more GI Joe Marvel from the 80's. I was fortunate enough to bring a nice copy of pre-Hal Jordan (Alan Scott) Green Lantern Vol. II up there for our resident Green Lantern man. Glad you liked the book! As I said befor, I'll try to get you more of that stuff. But as Dale enlightenend me, I'll also try to bring in some Green Lantern from the 60's, 70's, and 80's with maybe a splash of 90's. As I upgraded some of my 1962 Aquaman series, I dropped off about four issues of that series including a pretty decent copy of #16 and #35 (1st Appearance of Black Manta!). Flash Gordon #12, the first Charlton issue, was included as well. With the new Power Girl series, I also dropped of a pretty nice copy of All Star Comics #58 - the first appearance of Power Girl. Also included is a nice copy of Adventure Comics #381, the introduction of Supergirl into Adventure Comics. Lastly, a decent copy of Teen Titans #44 from the original series and Dell Four Color #736: Pluto.
As promised, my watch list is isted below. As you can see, there's a lot of neat stuff on that list. But it's ridiculous to think that I'd have all of that everytime I show up at the store once a month. More to the point, you can never be sure what in that list will appear in my magic box of goodies.
All Star Comics #58
Secret Wars issues 1 - 12
Transformers (Marvel Issues)
